Well, wouldn’t you know, today is amazing outside! Mid 70s and sunny, and yet there is this thing called work. The mundane process of responding to emails. After observing the “corporate world” for a few years now, one of the most important things to being a good employee is to be responsive. So everyday we try to balance the act of responding to issues, acknowledging those issues are being worked on, and/or deciding what you want to work on if there is not a deadline. A true rigor!
As Spring is starting to bloom, it is important to embrace the nice weather. As people experience the winter blues, part of the reason this happens is lack of sunlight. Now too much of anything can be bad, but as people work to figure out which email to respond to, take a break and enjoy at least 15 minutes of sunlight during the workday. Here are some benefits sunlight provides for the human body.
- Increased Vitamin D
- Helps to reduce inflammation and promotes cellular growth.
- Improve Mood
- Increases in serotonin can help reduce anxiety and depression as opposed to using prescription drugs.
- Lower Blood Pressure
- When sunlight hits the skin, your body releases nitic oxide into the blood. Nitric Oxide brings down blood pressure and improves heart health.
Now whether if you work from home or an office, instead of reaching for some chips or snacks between conference calls, go outside and get some Sunny Delight!
